It isn’t necessarily years of experience. It isn’t perfect public speaking skills. And it certainly isn’t having all the answers.

It is passion.

A great speaker is someone who cares deeply about an idea — someone who has a story to share, a question to ask, a perspective to challenge, or a possibility to imagine.

Our speakers come from different backgrounds and different generations. Some have years of experience in their fields. Others are young people who are only beginning to discover where their ideas can take them.

Some may be confident on stage. Others may be stepping onto a stage like this for the very first time.

What connects them is the courage to share an idea that matters to them.

At TEDxTamahereYouth, we believe that ideas come in all shapes and sizes. A powerful idea can come from a classroom, a laboratory, a business, a sports field, a community, a creative space — or simply from looking at the world differently.
